What ya driving?: Did have a Black 2001 Leon Cupra running 248BHP but sold it, now running a Yellow 2003 LEON CUPRA-R
guys its been a while since i showed me face and yes i did run astray for a while but im back and in all my normal full force and problems (bloody SEATS - spanish/german tat)
any 1 good with turbos??
i was on my way home from work in the week and some how blew 1 of the intercooler pipes straight of the top of the turbo, i stopped when i could and put it back on and drove off, when i drove off it didnt feel the same at all was lagging not really boosting atall a bit juddery and sounded like the DV was not holding a lot of press - letting it hiss out.
i popped to neal to use his scanner got a MAFF fault, over fueling and a boost drop between turbo and throttle.
iv changed the MAFF and found 2 leaks 1 i have fixed and 1 i didnt get a chace to attempt, in the mean time i have had to use the car a little but still not boosting past 6psi (no engine lights on) on the way back from my mums today i lost ALL boost and the turbo seems to be spooling but real high pitched but NO BOOST ATALL
maff and fueling has not come back but now just dont know what to do
any 1 know what the prob could be bar my driving??
im stuffed with out the car and i cant stand driving my mrs french shat about need help fast guys plzzzzzzzzzzzz

What ya driving?: 400+BHP rice rocket at present
Double check for any other boost leaks mate, if you hear whistling or hissing you could have a leak, this will obviously cause shite running, bit rich etc, and maybe juddering, but cars are strange things!, if the turbo is naffed you will know, blue smoke etc will be a fair signal, i assume its a petrol?

I would go for boost leak on what you have said, dump valves do stick open, intercoolers get cracks/leaks, pipes split etc..

NEWS JUST IN
at the cost of only £4.49 AND a thumb the car is now running again!!!
and fuk me is it running lol well in comparison to the rest of the week lol
iv only tested it up holoway but i nearly mounted the kerb with the tourqu steer to only um.. 30mph  and it pulled like god knows what..
i got pipped today after my troubles last nigh found that the turbo had blown another pipe off last night and i didnt notice till this morning.
so... after 4 hours today chasing vac and boost lines replacing what i could and "fixing" blue peter style what i couldnt afford to buy (most of it) it now seems better than when i had it mapped, im thinking the leaks have been there a while but got worst when i blew the boost pipes off...
items bought - 7 jub clips, 1ft of vac/boost pipe, a copper right angled pipe and a hole in my thumb.
what happens when my fixes fail like they normaly do i hear you ask :?:
well...fuk it plan B will come in to play!! whats plan B??
November 5th + a box of matches + a few beers = a nice warm night out
im buggerd if im fuking about with the pipes again

late response but i spoke to soon
but on a good note i have traced the problem!! all i need now is a manual boost controller
it seems that the MAP sensor can only handle 22PSI so when i boot it goes in to limp mode as im boosting to around 22-23 - im trialing a bleed valve at the min that gives me a max boost of 10PSI and im havin NO running probs bar it being a bit slow!!
any one got a manual controller going??

What ya driving?: Mk2 5 door Gti
Just wondering how is it compensating for your extra boost. If the map sensor isnt reading it then you wont have any extra fueling to compensate for the extra boost or is it just overboosting?

It will just overboost because it thinks it's going to blow the turbo, normally you'll get a massive judder as it cuts the turbo and fuel and then depending on the ECU will either resume back to normal or go into limp mode.
