With the weekend to myself, I was going to take the opportunity to get the old Pug up together once and for all. I know it's not one of my dubs, but I thought I'd share it with you anyway.

This is how it looked at 8:00am this morning. Ready for a good wash.

Closer inspection shows the poor contition of the paint. Lots if fine scratches, especially round the door handles.

I'm not really sure why the rear lights look like they do in this pic :?

Anyhow, out with the AG shampoo, megs mf wash mit and of course, 2 buckets

Image

To your average person, this would do, but not the likes of us eh?

Image

Swirls and sratches a plenty

Image

So it was a case old out with the old,

Image

and in with the new.........er (so to speak)

Image

Ready for the next stage. Megs clay with 50-50 diluted speed detailer as a lube

Image

It was fairly clean, and the clay did not have to get much crap off, but it gave a nice smooth surface ready for the business side of things.

Fire up the Porter Cable DA, and do 2 passes of Poorboys SSR2 applied using a Sonus Green grooved polishing pad.

Image

This was followed by a coat of good old SRP again applied with the machine using a Sonus Blue softer pad.

Image

To finish off, I used my AG High Def Wax applied by hand with a foam applicator pad, and buffed with a mf cloth.

Image

I didn't think the results were too shabby

Image

Even got this ugly tw@ to take a picture for me

Image

Due to the lack of space in the garage, I completed one section at a time, from clay to wax. However, I'd finished the o/s and realised that I hadn't done the roof  So I covered up the sides of the car with an old duvet cover so that I could lean over to reach the roof without making contact with the car.

Image

I moved it outside so to check on the results before parking it on the other side of the garage to work on the n/s. I don't think it came up too bad.
