Hey guys,

As the club has gotten a lot bigger over the last year, we've been advised to get some sort of insurance to cover us/you while at meets.

This cover wont cover you if you hit someone elses car whilst at a meet, that would be your own silly fault. but woudl help out if a club person is directing you and you have a bang, more importantly it covers anyone from the clubs belongings, say the banner blows away and straight through your windscreen.

So the long and short of it is, we feel now would be a good time to start a collection/subs to put towards the premium for the year (about £400ish)

While it's not mandatory, it would be great if you could spare even just a couple of pounds at the next meet or give what you can, as a lot of you know, we've tried to keep the club 'free' where possible and while our time is free, a lot of the resources like stickers and a few other things we have planned that go into dCO are not and we simply can't afford to absorb the cost of this insurance proposal.. it is afterall for the benefit of all who come to the meets and make dCO what it is..

Thanks for understanding, if anyone has an issue with this, please speak to one of the admin team or feel free to voice your opinions on this thread.

going on last month meet its getting smaller! perhaps we just need cover for the summer when its warm and people actually turn up to the meet!
perhaps everyone should chip in a fiver, its about the same as other clubs charge for a years membership. i dont know if it will raise £400 though, but it should at least go some way to covering it

What ya driving?: 2.0 5pot Santana - B6 Passat standard
just edited a little bit - it doesnt cover for an individuals error..

Basically guys to step up to the next level of clubs its a move we would like to get going.. as mentioned this is more for next year, but Rich and I havent got £200 each to throw i the pot.. hence why its a good idea to get the subs going now - we could look at advertising on the site, but that would take time to raise plus do we want a site fileld with adverts..

so maybe an xmas raffle or just a general raffle might be a good start too, so watch this space (any donations of prizes would be appreciated) - in the meantime, if you can chuck a couple of quid our way to get things moving it would be appreciated..

it would not bother me to pay a yearly subscription guys to cover costs not just the insurance. we pay nearly a fiver for vw mag these days!!
maybe join for first 6 months free then pay yearly(sounds good to me on paper but might be an ass to admin)
please do not go the advert route but relavent sponsered links may help revenue?

When I finally make my astonishing appearance I don't mind putting some money in the pot. Or actually paying some sort of "membership" fee. Rich... I see you around most so I'll chuck some your way :D
