hi i got a mk1 golf cabriolet ! the steering rack bracket has broken or come of from the bulk head ! :twisted: any1 with any info or that can fix it please let me know cheers jim cash waiting if any1 can sort it

it will need welding back on mate, happened to me, mine hadnt fully boken off and i was driving down the m4 with the steering feeling rather floppy :shock: i was lucky it didnt snap completely

i would go with what lawsy says crazyquiffs has gotta be the best mk1 place around, there isnt anything that guy doesnt know. I would say there is a good chance that the bracket would need to be replaced too, probably quite rotten, shouldnt cost too much.

ive done a few of those at cquiffs and we do a ss plate that goes between the two rack mounts so it wont do it again

the bracket on the bulkhead will need welding up first. the ss bracket is £32.50. give rich a call on o7766108495
