What ya driving?: Did have a Black 2001 Leon Cupra running 248BHP but sold it, now running a Yellow 2003 LEON CUPRA-R
hiya guys
i had a little issue a while ago with the leon
for some reason she seemed to "hold" some boost back then get rid of it as i was pulling away and/or when driving down the road let me have a masive judder - seemed like it wanted to bolt of but then realised i didnt have my foot on the go peddle lol.
any ways i looked on the net and found ppl who had the same probs and it was pointing to the n75 valve- as iv found this is a common fault on the 20VT engines (not on the cupraR and the S3)
the valve they use on the golf,leon,a3,octiv,fab has a bit of a history of failing for no real reason - remody - put the N75 J valve on it, its used on the cupraR,S3 and another one i cant remember its brown in colour and the sensor conection is the opersit side but its no issue it fits fine and the car feels so much smoother to drive and the boost comes in a lot sooner in the rev range.
fit ment is well simple all i needed was a flat noes screw driver, 8mm socket and 3 jub clips.
fitting- pull out the old n75 valve (little black thing goes in to the the intake hose and has 2 presure lines going in to it) unclip the single use clips (golfs im led to belive have re usable ones but dont know 100%) un plug the sensor then put the J valve in its place and do it all back up with new jub clips - 2 THINGS TO REMEMBER the longer pipe on the valve goes in the intake and the sensor conection is the wrong way round!!
WORDs OF WARNING-
:they are V-V fragile on the join of the pipes to the body DONT use force!!
:DONT GET THE VALVE FROM EBAY!!! the valves are fine but they over charging (new ones) iv seen them on there around 55-60 quid plus P&P and used ones 45-50 quid. i bought mine from VAGPARTS.COM on the site you wont find them in the VW section but will in the SEAT and AUDI i paid about 53 inc vat and postage and its under garentee but no returns on the valve unless faulty!! (i ordered mine on the monday it was there on wed i went to fit it on thurs but it had fallen apart-i called vagparts back up and they sent me a new one NO Q's it was all fitted to the car by monday)
im not saying its gut busting instant power but it feels better and smoother on the throtle :geek:
